🎯 Image Compressor to a Target Size
A form says "image must be under 200 KB"? Enter the target size and this tool automatically adjusts quality and dimensions until the image fits. All locally - nothing is uploaded.

JPG / PNG / WebP supported, including photos straight from your phone
How to use
- Check the limit on the site you're uploading to, e.g. "photo under 200 KB, JPG format".
- Choose your photo and type that number into "Target size" (200 KB by default).
- Click "Compress to target size": the tool first lowers quality step by step, and only shrinks dimensions if quality alone isn't enough.
- When you see "✅ Target reached", download and upload the result.
FAQ
Where do "under X KB" limits show up?
Job and exam application portals, visa and ID photo uploads, marketplace listings, email attachments, CMS media libraries - anywhere a form enforces a maximum file size, commonly 200 KB, 100 KB or even 30 KB. A multi-MB phone photo gets rejected instantly.
Will the image look bad after compression?
The tool searches for the highest quality that still fits your target, and avoids resizing unless it has to. Only for extreme targets (like 30 KB) does it shrink dimensions - the result still looks sharp on screens and in upload previews.
Why does it say "target not reached"?
Rare, but possible when the target is tiny (e.g. 10 KB) and the original is enormous. You still get the smallest version the tool can produce - try raising the target by a few KB.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Choosing, compressing and downloading all happen in your browser. ID photos and application photos never leave your device.
